Start here and use these resources FIRST, before you do any random Googling. Just remember Chocolate Mines and Channeling Cleopatra and Mars. Remember not everything you read online is TRUE. Be critical and be sure you can find some of the same information in multiple places.

Researching and Evaluating Websites: There are no editors on the internet. It is up to the reader to prove validity, authorship, integrity, bias and timeliness.

Also, NetTrekker has already evaluated the sites for you, so all you have to do is browse. Look at their search criteria. When you visit a site you didn't use NetTrekker to find, you should apply this criteria.

You may find something, maybe not. Totally depends on the topic. From general reference to advanced subject matter.

Kids Click Biographies : Lots of choice. A great directory to responsible web sites.

 

Biography Center: This site lets you make choices. It is arranged alphabetically by last name.

 

Academy of Achievement: Look carefully at this site. There is a pull-down list of people.

 

• Information Please: BIOGRAPHY-Great directory. This site has a bunch of cool stuff happening.

 

Ask Art: This is a database of artists.

BIBLIOGRAPHY MACHINE: Use this link to help create a bibliography that is almost error proof. Look over the page and make sure you are following the right pattern for the right type of source. Notice the source types on the right side.

 

Books are books with 0-4 authors.

Online encyclopedias and print encyclopedias are different.

eLibrary, ProQuest, SIRS are online databases.
